Prochem Coffee Stain Remover
Prochem Coffee Stain Remover is a ready-to-use, acidic cleaning solution designed for the direct treatment of coffee, tea, and other brown or yellow discolorations on carpets and fabrics. The lemon-scented, clear liquid is formulated to work on both synthetic and natural fibers.
Product features
Target stains: Removes marks from coffee, tea, beer, tannin, water, and other yellow and brown discolorations.
Target surfaces: Safe for use on both synthetic and natural fiber carpets and fabrics. Always pre-test a small area for colorfastness and dye stability.
Application: Applied directly to the stain as a ready-to-use product. It does not require dilution.
Fragrance and pH: It is a clear liquid with a fresh lemon fragrance and a low pH of 2.5.
Size variations
B195-01 (1 litre): This code is for the 1-liter bottle, typically featuring a trigger spray for easy application.
B195-05 (5 litres): This code denotes the larger, 5-liter container.
How to use
Pre-test. Before applying, always test the product in an inconspicuous area of the carpet or fabric. Check for any discoloration or change in the texture of the material.
Apply. Spray the undiluted solution directly onto the affected area. Alternatively, you can apply it with a clean, white towel, working from the outside of the stain toward the center.
Blot. Use a clean, white towel to blot the stain, rather than rubbing it, to avoid spreading the mark.
Wait. For tougher stains, re-apply the remover and allow it to dwell for 5 to 15 minutes.
Rinse. Finish by rinsing the treated area with clean water.
Important considerations
Persistent stains: Some old coffee and tea stains, especially on natural fibers like wool and cotton, may be permanent and impossible to remove completely.
Browning stains: For severe browning issues that may appear after cleaning, the product literature suggests treating the area with Prochem Browning Prescription (B175) mixed with an equal part of water.
Do not mix: Never mix Prochem Coffee Stain Remover with other cleaning agents.
Alternatives
If you are looking for an alternative to the Prochem product, Chemspec Browning Treatment & Coffee Stain Remover is another commercial-grade option that removes or reduces browning and coffee/tea stains.
