Unger HydroPower Ultra TDS-Monitor
The Unger HydroPower Ultra TDS-Monitor (code 21151) is a digital measuring device that is built into the head of the Unger HydroPower Ultra filter system. It displays the total dissolved solids (TDS) of the water, which indicates the water's purity.
Function
Monitors water purity: The monitor measures the parts per million (ppm) of dissolved minerals in the deionized (DI) water produced by the system.
Indicates resin replacement: It tells you when the resin packs need to be changed. A reading of 0 ppm is ideal, and Unger recommends replacing the resin once the reading reaches 10 ppm or higher to ensure streak-free cleaning results.
Simple to operate: The digital meter activates with the push of a button for quick and easy water quality checks.
Compatibility
The 21151 TDS monitor is specifically designed for the Unger HydroPower Ultra series, which includes the S, L, and LC models. It is not compatible with older Unger HydroPower units.
Maintenance and replacement
Batteries: For models using the HM Digital monitor, the manual details instructions for replacing the button cell batteries (LR 44).
Replacement part: The TDS monitor is part of the replacement head for the HydroPower Ultra unit, and can be purchased from Unger distributors.
Calibration: Factory-calibrated to 342 ppm, the monitor can be re-calibrated as needed using a calibration solution.
How to use
Start the water flow: Turn on the water supply to the HydroPower Ultra system.
Activate the TDS meter: Press the button on the digital TDS monitor to get a reading of the water exiting the filter.
Check the reading: A reading of 000 indicates optimal, pure water. A reading of 10 ppm or higher signals that it is time to replace the resin packs.
