Unleash the natural power of pure water with the Unger hydroPower RO M system (RO35C).

Designed for professional UK window cleaners and tradespeople, this high-performance, mobile reverse osmosis system delivers 100% pure demineralised water for streak-free, spotless cleaning of windows, solar panels, and other surfaces—without chemicals. A genuine 'Made in Germany' product, the hydroPower RO M combines exceptional performance with effortless operation to boost your efficiency and results.

Why choose the Unger hydroPower RO M for your business?

Superior cleaning results: The advanced 3-stage filtration process produces perfectly pure water. A combi-pre-filter removes chlorine and particles, dual RO membranes filter out up to 98% of minerals, and a final DI resin stage polishes the water to a 0 TDS reading for guaranteed spot-free drying.

Boost your productivity: With an impressive pure water output of up to 350 L/hr, this powerful system is ideal for 1–2 operators working simultaneously on larger or multiple jobs.

Easy, cost-effective maintenance: The innovative FastLock opening mechanism allows filter cartridge changes in seconds, without any tools. This dramatically reduces downtime, and the integrated TDS meter lets you monitor performance easily, extending the life of your membranes and resin.

Designed for portability: The robust, stainless steel frame and solid rubber wheels make the hydroPower RO M easy to transport between sites, even fitting neatly into the boot of a vehicle.

Durable and reliable: Built with high-quality materials and durable metal quick-release connectors, this system is engineered for longevity and designed to eliminate leaks.

For professional window cleaning equipment that works as hard as you do, invest in the Unger hydroPower RO M system. It's the intelligent, reliable, and efficient solution for achieving flawless, streak-free results every time.

How does the three-stage filtration process works?

The Unger hydroPower RO M (RO35C) uses a three-stage filtration process to produce 100% pure, demineralised water for streak-free cleaning. Unlike standard tap water, this pure water contains no total dissolved solids (TDS), so it dries without leaving spots or streaks on surfaces.

Here is a step-by-step explanation of how the system works:

  1. Stage 1: Pre-filtration. Water from your tap first enters a combi pre-filter. This cartridge filters out larger particles and removes chlorine. This step is critical because chlorine can damage the sensitive reverse osmosis (RO) membranes in the next stage.
  2. Stage 2: Reverse osmosis (RO). The water is then pumped through two high-performance RO membranes. How it works: In this core purification stage, tap water is pushed at high pressure against a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane allows smaller water molecules to pass through but blocks up to 98% of the larger dissolved minerals and impurities.Separation: The system separates the water into two streams: the now purer water (permeate) continues to the next stage, while the concentrated impurities (waste water) are flushed away.
  3. Stage 3: Deionisation (DI) polishing. The water from the RO membranes is still not 100% pure; it typically has a low TDS level of around 10–20 parts per million (ppm). To achieve a perfectly spot-free finish, the water passes through a final DI filter containing ion-exchange resin. This resin captures the last remaining dissolved mineral ions, "polishing" the water down to 0 TDS.

The result is laboratory-grade pure water that provides superior cleaning power without the need for additional chemicals. The system also features an integrated TDS meter that continuously monitors the water quality, letting you know when it's time to change the filters to maintain peak performance.

Water production

Up to 350 L/hr output: This is the maximum flow rate the machine can produce. It's powerful enough to allow one or two operators to work simultaneously and is best suited for larger jobs.

Adjustable flow rate: You can optimise the flow rate to match the specific job requirements. Reducing the flow for lighter cleaning jobs extends the life of your RO membrane and DI resin.

Factors affecting water consumption

Window size and dirtiness: Larger or dirtier windows require more water and more time spent rinsing.

Operator technique: Factors like flow rate settings and the time spent rinsing can vary between operators. A professional window cleaner is using an average of 25–30 litres of pure water to clean a standard 3-bedroom house in the UK.

Water hardness: The lifespan of your filters, particularly the DI resin, depends on the hardness of your local tap water. In hard water areas, the resin will saturate faster and need replacing sooner, which can indirectly affect your water usage efficiency. The integrated TDS meter helps you monitor this and know when to change your filters.

Initial clean: If cleaning a window with pure water for the first time, it's essential to perform a more thorough clean, paying attention to frames and seals. This often requires more water than subsequent maintenance cleans.

Setup and connection

To use the Unger hydroPower RO M (RO35C) with a water-fed pole, you'll need to follow a simple setup process to connect the pure water system to your cleaning pole. The system pressurises the water, which is then fed through a hose up the pole to a specialised brush head.

  1. Connect to a water source: First, attach a standard garden hose from your tap to the Inlet connection at the base of the hydroPower RO M unit.
  2. Connect the pure water hose to the pole: Connect the hose from your water-fed pole to the Outlet connection on the hydroPower RO M. The system uses durable metal quick-release connectors for a secure, leak-free fit.
  3. Run the hose along the pole: Feed the hose up along the length of your water-fed pole, securing it with hose clips to keep it tidy and prevent it from getting in the way.
  4. Turn on the water supply: Turn on the tap to start the water flowing into the RO system. The integrated pump will then pressurise the water through the 3-stage filtration process.
  5. Check TDS levels: Before you begin cleaning, check the built-in TDS meter. It should read '0' to confirm that the water is 100% pure and ready to provide a streak-free clean.
  6. Connect the brush head: The hose attaches directly to the brush head at the end of your pole. If using an Unger nLite pole system, this will include an angle adapter for precise brush control.

Cleaning technique

Once the system is set up, the cleaning process is straightforward:

  1. Scrub to agitate dirt: Start with the pure water flowing and use the water-fed brush to scrub the windows, frames, and sills. The brush bristles will loosen dirt and grime.
  2. Rinse thoroughly: After agitating, lift the brush slightly away from the surface and allow the pure water to flow over the glass in a "curtain" of water. The pure water rinses away all remaining debris. The key is to ensure pure water is the last thing to touch the glass, and it is rinsed from top to bottom.
  3. Leave to dry naturally: Since the water is 100% pure (0 TDS), it will dry naturally without leaving any spots, streaks, or residue. You do not need to use a squeegee.
  4. Control water flow: For efficiency, you can use a pole-mounted control valve to turn the water flow on and off between windows.
